My Mom

I was browsing through my pictures and found this awesome picture of my mom!

I absolutely love this picture of her!  I took this of her at the Savannah River Rapids Park in Augusta, Georgia.  She went with me over there to get Zach for Memorial Day...  we had the best time sight-seeing!

It is Christmas at my house!

First, thanks for all the prayers about my last post.

It is officially Christmas at my house!  Yep, we have our tree up!!!  I am so excited!  I took some pictures of it last  night...  here is our full tree...

We don't have a theme with out tree.  Most of the ornaments are the ones that my mom has bought me through the years...  she gets me a new ornament every year.  Zach has some that he brought from his mom and dad's house and we have some filler ornaments like balls and snowflakes and random stuff like that...

I am a clear light kind of girl but my husband is a colored light man so I let him have his colored lights this year and next year we will have clear lights!

My favorite ornament you ask???  One of my favorites is this star...

My great grand daddy Giambrone made it.  It is a cut out of a star that he wrapped in aluminum foil!  I absolutely love it!

That is all I have time for right now...  I am about to head out for the day!  Hope you are having a great weekend!

The Cat is Out of the Bag

Hi Blog Friends,

Today I want to let you in on a little secret that my husband and I have just recently filled our families in on.

I have been off "the pill" since April of this year!  And we have been officially trying to have a baby since then!  We are so excited to start a family of our own!  We love our niece and nephew so much and look forward to having our own child to love one day soon!  Unfortunately we have hit a little road block...  Nothing too serious, thank goodness.

I saw my regular doctor on October 21 and she did some blood work to try to figure out why my cycles are irregular.  It turns out that I have too much testosterone in my system...  This is a symptom of poly cystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) which my twin sister Karmen has.  So she has referred me to a specialist.  I go to that appointment on December 1 at 2:00.  I am a little nervous about it because there are so many things that it could be but I am trying to tell myself that it is PCOS...  thankfully I already know what our plan is if it is PCOS.

We were hoping to be pregnant by Christmas so we could share the wonderful news with our families at such a special time of year...  but it doesn't look like that is going to happen.  We are just waiting for God's perfect timing...

Would you keep us in your prayers as we continue on this road to parenthood?  We would be most appreciative!

I will try to keep you all up to date on what is going on now that the cat is out of the bag!

My Girls

Karmen, Alline, and Me
(not the best picture of us, we had been bowling on the Wii and couldn't quit laughing)

These two girls are my best friends!  They are always there for me no matter what!  Not only are they my friends but they are my family and that makes our bond even more special!

I am so thankful to have both of them in my lives!  Love you girls!

What are you thankful for?

As we enter into the Thanksgiving season I thought that I would take a moment and write out what I am thankful for...

  • My husband- he is my best friend, my soul mate, the person I turn to for advice, and I am so proud to call him my husband. I love him to pieces!
  • My family- I have the best family in the world. I am lucky to have parents that love me, a sister that I can tell everything to and is always there for me, a cousin who is more like a sister who is always there for me and I can tell everything to, grandmothers that are out of this world, in-laws that love me as their own and siblings in law who are great... I have the most precious niece in the whole world who can brighten my day with just a hug... I also have a nephew who is the cutest little man I have ever laid eyes on. And my precious little cousin, who I refer to as my niece, who is the one of the sweetest little girls in the world!
  • My job- with the way the economy is these days I am thankful that I have a job with excellent benefits.
  • My health- I am thankful that I have my good health. Of course I have colds and stuff but I am talking about major issues... It was just two short years ago this month I found out that I had melanoma and on November 21 (that was the day before Thanksgiving in 2007) I will be melanoma free for two years!
  • Our military and their families- this one holds an even more special place in my heart now that my husband is part of them. I have always loved our military and supported them, but now that Zach is a soldier I am even more thankful for their sacrifices and their hard work...
  • YOU!- I am thankful to all of my blog readers who find our boring lives some what interesting and keep coming back!

What are you thankful for this year? Please feel free to share in the comments section or post to your own blog and leave a comment here telling me that you did so I can be sure to check it out.

The sweet things he says...

For the past few weeks Zach has been getting up at 4:30 to go work. Normally when I leave at 7:15 he is still snoozing away so for him to get up before me is a major deal around our house. He gets up and goes to take a shower and gets dressed and then he comes and lays back down in the bed with me for a few minutes before he kisses me goodbye and heads off to work for the day... I asked him why he gets back in bed after he gets up and he said "because you look so cute and snuggly laying there asleep and I just want to cuddle for another minute before I have to go..."

How sweet is that... talk about knowing a way to my heart!

URGENT PRAYER REQUEST *UPDATE*

A friend found out yesterday that she is 7 weeks pregnant... she went to the restroom a few minutes ago and she was bleeding pretty bad... she is on her way to the doctor's office now. Please say a prayer for her and her baby and her boyfriend who is driving her to the doctor now.

Thanks!

*UPDATE* She did not miscarry. She said her doctor told her it was a result of her pap smear yesterday... She is on bedrest until Monday. Keep her in your prayers.

I've been tagged

I was tagged by Shana over at Serendipity. It's a getting to know me, meme. So here goes nothing!

1. Name someone with the same birthday as you. That would be my twin sister, Karmen.

2. Where was your first kiss? I actually can't remember when my first kiss was...

3. Have you ever seriously vandalized someone else's property? no.

4. Have you ever hit someone of the opposite sex? I smack my husband from time to time in a playful way... not seriously hitting him.

5. Have you ever sung in front of a large number of people? Not by myself but in a group.

6. What's the first thing you notice about the preferred sex? eyes and smile.

7. What really turns you off? laziness

8. What do you order at Starbucks? caramel macchiato

9. What is your biggest mistake? that would be breaking up with Zach when we were still in high school...

10. Have you ever hurt yourself on purpose? No.

11. Say something totally random about yourself. I can touch my nose with my tongue...

12. Has anyone ever said you looked like a celebrity? Yes, I was told years ago that I looked like Lindsay Lohan when she did the Parent Trap.

13. Do you still watch kiddie movies or TV shows? Yes, I watch iCarly, such a cute show!

14. Did you have braces? No.

15. Are you comfortable with your height? Yes.

16. What is the most romantic thing someone of the preferred sex has done for you? He surprises me with little things for my birthday and anniversary... we don't generally do birthday and anniversary gifts because we would rather put that money towards paying off our bills but he will surprise me with a card and a little gift.

17. When do you know its love? when you still get anxious and excited to see that person even though you just saw them the day before...

18. Do you speak any other languages? very little Spanish.

19. Have you ever been to a tanning salon? yes, and I payed the price for it too... being fair skinned doesn't mix well with tanning beds.

20. What magazines do you read? :) I read People and Glamour

21. Have you ever ridden in a limo? Yes, a friend had one to take us to the Alabama Theater for her birthday party one year...

22. Has anyone you were really close to passed away? Yes...

23. Do you watch MTV? No.

24. What's something that really annoys you? Just 1? laziness, lying, putting things off on other people (oh wait, that is laziness)... I'll stop there before I go off on a tangent that doesn't need to be visited...

25. What's something you really like? the beach!

26. Do you like Michael Jackson? not really.

27. Can you dance? I am not a fan of dancing... the last time I danced was a cheerleading routine my senior year in high school.

28. What's the latest you have ever stayed up? I'm not sure.

29. Have you ever been rushed by an ambulance into the emergency room? No

30. Do you actually read these when other people fill them out? Yep!

31. Tag 5 people! I tag anyone who wants to do this!

Don't forget to tag five people & let them know about it, ha!
