Why can't we have weekends all the time?
We had a wonderful time this weekend, it went by entirely too fast but it was fun.
Saturday we were under a tornado watch all day and then that night we met up with HH's friend from high school (J) and his girlfriend (K) for dinner at this fabulous Cajun restaurant. We attempted to go bowling but when we got there they told us that there were 23 groups ahead of us... so we decided to leave because we didn't want to wait that long.
Sunday we all checked out of our hotels and then we met up for lunch at P.F. Chang's. I have never been there so I was excited to try it. It was SO yummy! After lunch we took J and K down to the River Walk! It was such a pretty day so it was nice to walk down there for a while! We saw two baby snakes down there though. We made plans to go back with J and K this Saturday but that may be our last trip to the River Walk while HH is there since there are snakes.
I made it home around 6:00 yesterday evening. I talked to HH most of the way home so that made the time fly by!
So that is my wonderful weekend in a nutshell! I just wish the weekend was all the time!

"F"un for the whole family...

It is time for another installment of my ABCs... Enjoy the things I love that start with the letter "F".
1. Family- I have the best family ever. They are so supportive of me and HH and we would be so lost without them.
2. Friends- My friends are wonderful, they have helped keep me sane over the years.
3. Fruit- I love fresh fruit! Strawberries are my favorite but anything fresh is FABULOUS with me!
4. Freebies- I love to get free samples of stuff. I like to try stuff before I actually spend my hard earned money on it.
5. Facebook- I love reconnecting with people that I went to school with and this is my favorite way to do it.
6. Francesca's- the clothes are SO adorable and they aren't that expensive!
7. French fries- don't shoot me, I know they aren't healthy but they are oh so yummy!!!
8. Finding Nemo- I love this movie, it is SO cute... did you know that I speak whale? :-D
9. Flip Flops- I wear flip flops year round... They are so convenient and comfortable.
10. Freedom- last but certainly not least... I am SO thankful for the freedom we have in this country!
Join in the fun and post your own ABCs. If you want to use my picture email me at the email address to the right and I will email it to you. Make sure to leave me a comment that you participated. If enough people start participating I will put a Mr. Linky up the next time I post one of these!
Well I made it...
I just realized that this book is the SECOND book in a series... now I am bummed because I like to read things in order... oh well I will get the first book and then the third and forth books.
One of Huggy Hubby's friends is up here also because he is being deployed in a couple of weeks. His girlfriend came up to visit so we are going to go to dinner tonight with them. Please keep J and his girlfriend K in your prayers because he will be gone for a year!
Still no baby G... HH's parents were supposed to come this weekend to visit but since E still hasn't had the baby they didn't want to chance missing it. Which is totally understandable. I talked to E yesterday and she is so ready to have him... Maybe she will this weekend.
Peanut spent the night with Mia and Pop (my parents) last night and I talked to her on the phone while I was driving and she told me she wanted me to come home... it broke my heart, Peanut actually misses me!
It is supposed to storm here today so we are staying inside until dinner!
That is about all I have for now... my brain is functioning on little sleep because we stayed up late watching tv.

Urgent Prayer Request!!!
Weekend Recap and Great News
Saturday morning we slept late. We didn't leave the hotel at all! We watched movies and napped all day. The rest was much needed!
Sunday we slept late again and checked out of our hotel at 10:30 (Georgia time). HH had to be back at his building by 4:00 Sunday afternoon so after we checked out of the hotel we ate lunch at Applebee's and went to some stores to look around. I got home last night at about 6:30.
The great news!!! HH made a 100 on his latest test which puts him in the running for Honor Grad!!! He also has the opportunity to phase up to Phase 5 plus this week instead of four more weeks like he is supposed to. The platoon sergeant is giving them the opportunity to phase up this week so if he passes everything we won't have to worry about passes anymore! Also, he got his security clearance stuff out of the way so that is great news as well!!! So Friday, was filled with great news for him!
Keep him in your prayers this week he has his hardest class this week and he will be taking the test to phase up on Tuesday or Thursday!

"D" (can't come up with anything creative, sorry!)

1. Dark Chocolate- I am HUGE fan, I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!
2. Dimples- babies with dimples are SO cute!!!
3. Doughnuts- not just any donughnuts, ONLY cake doughnuts... I don't like all of that glaze!
4. Dogs- my three little cuties are the best doggies ever...
5. Devil's food cake cookies- oh my goodness these things are the best, I could eat them everyday, but I won't do that because that just isn't healthy.
6. Dining out- Huggy Hubby and I LOVE to go out to eat, especially to new places... We love to try new things, since HH has been in Augusta we have tried several new places!!!
7. Deep sea fishing- I love to fish but deep sea fishing takes it to a whole new level... you can catch some interesting fish out in the ocean!
8. Discovery channel- they have a ton of intersting shows to watch and you learn something from watching them... my favorite is Planet Earth!
9. Dragonfly (the movie)- this was the movie that HH and I saw on our very first date...
10. Dreamland BBQ- BBQ isn't my favorite food in the world but when I do actually want to eat it Dreamland is what I want!!! It helps that they have the world's best banana pudding!
The "D" list was actually pretty hard to come up with... I had to get my brain going to come up with the whole list!
I will home later tonight and I will try to update about our weekend!

Random Act of Kindness Fridays
Today I want to share with you a blog that has really inspired me... Kelly's Korner!!! Bless Kelly's heart she has been through some trying times over the last several weeks with her cutie patootie little girl Harper! But everything is fine and dandy now and Harper is a healthy little girl! Kelly has inspired me because throughout everything that was going on with Harper she was always praising God. It is easy to ask him "Why me, Lord?" but Kelly kept right on praising him... I don't know how she did it but she praised Him through the whole process!!! Kelly is a beautiful person inside and out and she is truly an inspiration to me!

Praise Him
PRAISE: I have a loving husband! He is the most amazing husband any girl could ask for! I am so proud of him (he was chosen as assistant Platoon Guide today) and I thank him everyday for serving our country!
PRAISE: My wonderful sister and her husband for allowing me to live with them while HH is away in training. Without their kindness I would be living alone and that is not what I need right now.
PRAISE: My and HH's supportive families, for supporting HH and myself through all of this... without their love we probably wouldn't make it through these 7 months.
PRAISE: My job, I have wonderful friends here at work and I have a wonderful job with great benefits.
PRAISE: We have a home, even though we aren't living in it right now, it is still ours and we are blessed to have it!
PRAISE: I have a reliable car to get me back and forth to Augusta every weekend! (PRAISE: I can actually visit HH now!)
As you can see I have a lot to be thankful for... I know you guys do too! What are you thankful for?

Second Chances
My first second chance came with Huggy Hubby! We dated and I broke up with him and then he graciously took me back and now here we are 2 (almost 3) years later happily married. HH didn't have to take me back, he could have said "You know Chickie, I am much better off without you so why don't you go find yourself someone else." We have talked about it since then and we both knew the first time we dated that we were meant for each other... So second chance number one, best thing that has ever happened to me! Thanks HH!!!
My second second chance came in November of 2007 when I was diagnosed with skin cancer (melanoma in-situ, a non-invasive melanoma). This was a huge eye opener! HH and I had stopped going to church and a lot of other things were not the way they should have been in our lives and I think this was God's way of showing me that I am not promised tomorrow and to not take anything for granted but mostly to show me that I was not living correctly. I think I talked to God more in that week when I was waiting to hear the results of my biopsy than I had in my 22 years of life.
On the morning that my dermatologist called I actually was calm (I had been a nervous wreck since the spot was removed). I felt that everything would be ok. Yes getting the dreaded phone call that it was indeed melanoma was terrifying but once my doctor explained what melanoma in-situ was I started to feel better... I have wonderful doctors who take great care of me and I am very lucky to have them! I had surgery the day before Thanksgiving in 2007 and I will forever associate Thanksgiving with this and will ALWAYS be thankful for what I have and what I have been through.
Through all of this I have learned that I should always be willing to give second chances, I have been given two... other people should be given another chance too. I have also learned to not take things for granted... we aren't promised tomorrow... God is there for us and loves us no matter what situations we go through...
Have any of you been given second chances? I would love to hear your stories about how you were given a second chance!

Army Life is Busy
The past three weekends I have made the 4.5 hour drive to see HH on Friday and the 4.5 hour drive home on Sunday. I plan to go every weekend! When you don't get to see your husband everyday you take every advantage you get to see him!
HH and I were talking the other weekend about our marriage. Before he left for Basic Training we took each other for granted on a daily basis. But being separated for so long and not being able to talk to each other everyday has really opened our eyes to see how lucky we are to have each other, how much the other really means to us, and to never take each other for granted! I love HH more than anything in this world, I always have and always will! But him being away has made me appreciate him SO much more. He is my soul mate and I love him to pieces! So a HUGE thank you goes to the Army for making our marriage even better than before!
HH is enjoying his classes and will know even more about computers than I do when he is finished. His MOS is 25U-Signal Support System Specialist... He will be looking for a job in this field when he comes home in June so if you have any ideas of where he can apply please let me know!
Huggy Hubby and I are planning a mini-vacation this fall but I think I would rather save up for a bigger, nicer vacation!
I am still living with K-Mommy and her Hubby and of course my fabulous niece Peanut! Peanut cracks me up on a regular basis... Sometimes one of us will slip up and say "shut up" and of course Peanut being 2 repeats us and we have to tell her "we don't say that"... Well now she has started telling us when we slip up and say it "Chickie, we don't say dat!" It is hilarious! She is so much fun at this age and I am glad that I get to be there for all of the fun stuff!
That is all I have for now, I am working on a post about second chances that we are given so be sure to check back soon for that.

I am still alive.
A few updates:
*HH is hoping to be promoted to Phase 5 tomorrow which means more freedom.
*HH is going to put in for an all weekend pass if he gets to Phase 5 tomorrow which means I can pick him up Friday and he won't have to be back until Sunday. Say a prayer for this.
*HH finally started classes this past Wednesday so we are happy about that.
*I have requested half a day off on Friday to leave early to spend some extra time in Augusta with HH, so pray that they approve it.
That is all for now, I am at work and things are piling up on my desk. Have a great week!
